International Student Check-in

In addition to Orientation, all new students are required to "check-in" at the International Center as soon as possible upon arrival. Plan to check-in at least one day before your orientation. During check-in, we will give you materials to help you get started in Tallahassee. We will also copy your important documents. You must bring ALL of the following documents to the International Center:

  • I-20 document (and I-20s for dependents, if any)
  • Passport with valid U.S. visa inside
  • I-94 card (small, white card that you will receive on the airplane before your entry to the U.S.).
  • Provide your local address and phone number in Tallahassee, even if it is only temporary (a hotel, friend's house, etc.).
  • Contact information for emergency contact person (in or outside the U.S.)

When can you check-in? The International Center's hours are: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please check-in as soon as possible after you arrive in Tallahassee, and at least one day before your orientation. If you are unable to do so before orientation, report to the International Center as soon as possible after orientation. You will not be able to register for classes until check-in is complete.

Where is the International Center located? The International Center is located at 945 Learning Way in the southwest section of the FSU campus. NOTE: For an updated online campus map, refer to: www.fsu.edu/Campus/newmap/.
