A New Building for the International Center

new building Woodward St. perspective The International Center will move to a brand new building in January 2010. The new building will be located on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Learning Way (just east of the Student Life Building and right next to the new Student Success Building; see site map below). Our three story building will have will house both the International Center and the Office for Multicultural Affairs.

There will be lots of programming space for use by students and student groups. The first floor boasts an Art Gallery, an auditorium to seat 100, a licensed kitchen, a dining area to seat 100, a student lounge area with a big screen TV, and will house the suite of offices for the IC’s Global Pathways and Exchanges, Crosscultural Coordination and Beyond Borders program.

The second floor will be home to the IC Administrative Suite, the IC Advisers’ suite, and four multi-purpose programming rooms with audio/visual equipment. The Office of Multicultural Affairs will occupy the third floor.

new IC buildng courtyard perspective The building will share a large, common courtyard with the Student Success Building and the Student Life Building. This courtyard will provide wonderful space for a variety of student events and activities.

The design of this building will reflect an international feel from color tones to cultural displays. There will be different cultural artifacts and art on display throughout the building. This state of the art building will most likely be one of the most outstanding International Center facilities in the US.
