Information for Accepted Applicants

Upon accepting the offer from the Walt Disney World Resort, students will receive an invitation to join a group on Facebook from FSU's Special Programs Coordinator.  This group will be only for students participating in the same program, and will serve as a relaxed way for the students to get to know each other as well as ask questions.  Students are encouraged to post a picture and introduce themselves.

Pictures of the FSU campus and links to the Disney College Program and International College Program websites will be posted on the group page.  The Special Programs Coordinator will also send out information and updates through the Facebook group.  The Director of the FSU International Center and J Visa Immigration Advisor will also be members of the group to serve as additional resources. The Coordinator of the International Affairs Office (or office coordinating this program) at your home university will be invited to join this group as well.

If you are concerned about joining a social networking site, please note that it is possible to adjust the privacy settings.  For example, you may adjust the privacy settings so that your Facebook account does not appear in searches and people you are not "friends" with cannot see your profile.

Grace Period Coverage

Upon successful completion of the program, participants are granted a 30-day grace period to travel within the United States.  If you would like to travel, you will need insurance coverage for this period that meets the federal requirements for J-1 visa holders.  Please note that it is a requirement that J visa holders have insurance coverage the entire time they are in the US.  Study USA will not provide coverage during this period since you will have completed your program of study.  The same company offers a policy called Visit USA which meets the federal requirements for J-1 visa holders.  For those who will not remain in the US for the full 30 days, it is possible to buy Visit USA coverage for 15 days.  To learn more about the Visit USA policy, please see: Visit USA.
