Option 1: University Sponsored Insurance
Purchase the university sponsored insurance plan which does meet all of the required criteria.
If you decide to purchase this plan, you can do so in the Thagard Insurance Office, Room 140. Payment for international plans is not available online.
Payment Options for the university-sponsored plan:
- Payment in full with check or credit card (MasterCard or Visa) in U.S. Dollars and either:
- Purchase the annual plan which begins August of each year.**
- Purchase in two payments (Fall and Spring/Summer) prior to registering for each semester.
- Defer payment to student account. This means that a student has approximately a two-month grace period for payment.*** The options are:

*** For those deferring payment, a cashier's hold is placed on the student's account preventing Registration until the insurance is paid in full. Payments must be made in full to the student's account (www.sfs.fsu.edu) by the registration window for the following semester in order to avoid delays in class registration. The time between enrollment for the policy and the registration window is the grace period provided by deferment.
- Once you have signed the agreement to purchase university sponsored insurance, there will be no refunds if circumstances change. In the event that you transfer to another university, there will be no refunds on insurance payments made and any charges for insurance on the student account are still payable.
