On Friday, October 7, 2005 the International Center Art Gallery opened its doors to the public in a very successful grand opening celebration, with an approximate
250 in attendance. Cynthia Green, International Center Director welcomed
guests from the FSU and Tallahassee communities and then introduced Dr.
Mary Coburn, Vice President of Student Affairs at Florida State University, for
special remarks. After saying a few words about how pleased she was with the
innovative cultural programming efforts and the vibrant and artistic changes
occurring at the International Center that brings in people from the Tallahassee
community, Dr. Coburn and Ms. Green cut the ribbon and the public was welcomed
into the gallery.
The International Center Art Gallery was created to provide an exhibition space for international artists who are part of the FSU and Tallahassee communities. Our mission is to present arts from different countries and cultures and lead diverse audiences in discovering the unique material, aesthetics, and intellectual achievements of art and culture. The IC Art Gallery offers a venue for a global experience, without having to travel. Join us in rediscovering our world through art! |
